The results were compelling: 73% of patients taking kava showed clinically meaningful improvements on the Anxiety Status Inventory (ASI), compared to 56% of those receiving the placebo. That’s a noticeable difference, and exploratory analyses confirmed kava’s advantage over placebo with a p-value of less than 0.01, suggesting that these outcomes were statistically significant.
Improvement in Well-Being
In addition to the ASI, other measures like the Clinical Global Impressions (CGI) scale and the Bf-S wellbeing self-rating scale also indicated consistent advantages for those who received kava. This paints a broader picture of kava’s potential benefits, showing that it may contribute to improved overall well-being in individuals facing anxiety and related conditions. Safety and Tolerability
