We were all shocked to hear about the cyclone (Cyclone Pam) that has devastated the Vanuatu islands. Obviously the devastation is our first concern, but this is where much of the world (including us) sources most of the world’s supply of high quality Kava.
According to this map, the outlying islands were where Cyclone Pam hit and not Vanuatu proper itself:
This would be better news than all of the islands being devastated, but on the islands that were hit, reportedly 4/5 of the homes on each island has been damaged or destroyed. As of this writing there have been close to 30 deaths, but that is expected to rise as rescue work gets underway.
